For me, art is about inspired communication. Then deeper still, the root of communication: to commune
When our hearts merge in mutual creation, we find that inspired state. When we openly share from that spirit, our humanity is shared. So my work is intended as just that– an invitation to open our hearts and minds together into inspired communion.
The crazy quest I’m always on is finding a visual language that can speak that invitation. What shows up is a place between worlds. It’s a place of abstraction that’s also dreamily familiar. It’s a place of surreal imagination that also lives in concrete memories of mythology. It is always seeking a grace of quiet harmony while it hovers only for a moment over a field of continual change. Altogether it is straddling all those opposite worlds intentionally, wanting to be a bridge for seeing that everything is absolutely connected.
I am thrilled to have you arrive at the house I call “my museum,” with its walls thoroughly collaged with my work. Great BIG acrylic paintings on canvas, digital murals, and prints are the mediums I offer. The hoped for communion is to ignite vision in our imaginations, to look into an elemental world, feel color in our hearts and love the love of inspired connection.
Thank you so much,
Ray McDaniel.
