Visitors to Mineral Point and I have explored the mysteries of wood-fired stoneware and porcelain, the magic of the potter’s wheel, and the allure of wild clay adventures since 1977.
My work is part of the Leach/Hamada tradition in St. Ives, Cornwall, England in the 1940’s. Their vision is included in the Arts and Crafts genre, seen most prominently in the United States in the work of Frank Lloyd Wright. By using local materials and high-firing with wood, I also strive to bring the natural world into our personal spaces.
