Creating and fostering Art has been a lifelong passion. My work is modern impressionistic, producing hand carved, limited edition woodcut prints and original oil paintings.
I am interested in capturing nature’s grand places. I am drawn to pattern, light and color of landscape to visualize impression. Favorite subjects include ancient monumental natural places, perennial gardens, rural vistas, waterscapes, and still life compositions. I include wildlife, domestic animals or people that make themselves known as the composition story evolves.
I find inspiration in the driftless region of Wisconsin and travels throughout the U.S. and Europe. I thrive in the outdoors. I often paint en plein air, hiking, biking, kayaking with a camera, returning with my easel and paints. Wisconsin is an inspirational treasure trove of state and county parks, nature preserves, lakes, rivers and splendid vistas.
I have organized group exhibitions, exhibited with Art Associations, had solo shows and participated in The Fall Art Tour multiple years.
With my art I hope to motivate appreciation and preservation of natural places to help save earth’s ecology for ourselves and future generations.
