Press Kit:

It is no accident that the Driftless Area of southern Wisconsin acts like a magnet that attracts artists. Its lush landscape with rolling hills, rivers and creeks, and dramatic rock formations provides the source of inspiration for all who live there or simply pass through. Tucked away in a variety of unique geographical features, you will find the studios of artists of every sort – weavers, painters, woodworkers and more. Once a year they open their studios to the public and the event is called The Fall Art Tour.

As you drive through the exquisite countryside on this self guided tour, you will be able to see how local artists live and work, and watch them demonstrate their art form. Experience the unusual studio spaces like the site of a former brewery, an old public school building, an Amish log cabin, or a converted dairy barn. In these buildings you will watch potters throw pots, jewelers making jewelry, glass blowers demonstrating their craft.

Spend a few hours or the entire weekend and soak up the beauty of the countryside, the artwork, and the welcoming spirit of over 50 artists who invite you to stop in for a visit.

Please contact us if you have questions or comments, would like a particular image, or would like to talk with any of our artists for your story.

We also encourage you to visit our FacebookInstagram, and the Tour News and Studio Stories section of our website for photos of and stories on individual artists.
