I have been creating art for over 30 years; oil on canvas, pastel on paper, lately acrylic and mixed media works created with a combination of acrylic and pastel. I love making art. Over the last several years I have created the ongoing “Bodacious Bovines” series. They always make people laugh. They even make me laugh when I am working on them. A small 5x7 print of one of these outrageous creatures, even in the most dismal cubicle, will guarantee a smile.
Age, an aching back, a disabled wife, and a temperamental vintage van has forced a cutback in outdoor art fairs. I still do a few shows in Wisconsin but no more out of state venues. Plans for the future include more enchanting Bodacious Bovines and perhaps another character to enliven and bring a smile to this often too serious and scary world. I often say I must get back to more “serious” art and that usually last for a very short time and I am back to creating crazy cows.
At this point my artistic goals remain the same, to have fun, and to elicit a reaction, hopefully a smile, a laugh or just a good feeling in those who view my work. (Visit Cow Guy Artworks at www.cow-guy.com.)
